Small Cards, Big Impact: Spreading Kindness Across Hospitals

Sometimes, a simple handmade card can make someone's day a little brighter.
Through the Our GiveBack Club at our high school, students came together to create handmade cards for hospital patients. During club meetings, we spent hours drawing colorful designs, writing encouraging messages, and creating cards that would hopefully bring smiles to the people receiving them.
But this effort extended beyond our own club. High school students from different schools also took the time to create handmade cards, helping us spread kindness to even more patients. Together, we have collected over 800 handmade cards, each filled with creative drawings, thoughtful words, and positive messages.

Many of these cards were included in care packages delivered to Moffitt Cancer Center in Florida. However, our efforts didn't stop there.
We also had the opportunity to share handmade cards with children at Smokey Point Behavioral Hospital in Washington. The cards were delivered to the hospital, where the staff and patients were incredibly kind and grateful.

Knowing that something as simple as a handmade card could reach someone in another state made this project even more meaningful. It was also inspiring to see students from different schools come together, each contributing their time and creativity to make a difference.
Through this experience, we learned that kindness has no boundaries. Whether a card is delivered locally or across the country, a few thoughtful words can remind someone that others are thinking of them.

To anyone looking for an easy way to make a difference, start with a card. A little creativity and kindness can go a long way.
